Summer Solstice
The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year, the time of the year when we are at the peak of Solar or Yang energy. It provides us with the opportunity to celebrate the sun (Surya) as a visible form of the Divine and the giver of Prana. In Yoga the sun is viewed as the spiritual heart of the world, just like our own heart is viewed as our inner sun and the place of true wisdom that comes from within.
