The Four Aims of Life Morning Immersion (October 2022)
October 17 – 21
Monday - Friday, 6:30 – 7:45am
Stemming from the Vedic era of yogic teachings, there are four pursuits in life which are meant to align us with our soul’s purpose and reveal our innate fullness. In Sanskrit, these pursuits are known as puruṣārtha or “for the purpose of the soul.” These pursuits consist of our higher purpose (dharma), prosperity (artha), enjoyment (kama), and liberation (mokṣa). Utilizing these teachings in our lives provides us with guardrails to maintain inner and outer balance, awareness, integrity and lasting joy.
Each morning of the immersion you will be provided prompts around the day's focus as an opportunity to reflect and integrate the teachings into your daily life.
The Morning Yoga Immersion provides practitioners with an opportunity to delve into yogic philosophy and practice with focused intention and daily commitment.
The morning sessions will include asana, pranayama and a short meditation. The format of the postures and breath work will be similar throughout the week, but will energetically attune with the season at hand. The daily repetition of the pattern of the postures and breath work fosters presence by alleviating the cognitive work of the mind. The practice itself becomes a moving meditation, prayer or offering. It acts as a healing balm for the often distracted, restless and anxious outer mind. As the mind settles into a groove of steady concentration and returns to its natural reflective nature, a deeper understanding of oneself and the teachings is unveiled.
